“TAKE 13” Saturday Classes Return For 2017 Semester

As Eastern Shore Community College begins its new Spring 2017 semester on January 9th, it will also continue the popular new offering of “TAKE 13” Saturday classes, beginning January 14th. Initially launched for the Fall 2016 semester, this initiative gained statewide attention and has been nominated for the New Horizon’s Excellence in Education Awards competition for 2017, acknowledging best-practice programs or initiatives that improve student success outcomes.
“TAKE 13” derives its name from the thirteen credits that can be acquired through two, eight- week sessions. Based on testimonials from the first session this past fall, the program does indeed allow students to balance work, family, and school, and succeed as a college student with only a one day a week commitment. Students that are enrolled or preparing for our allied health programs are also finding benefits in the availability of these Saturday classes.
The new semester offerings include Principles of Accounting 1, Anatomy and Physiology 1 (and Lab), Survey of American Lit II, History of World Civ. II, and Abnormal Psychology. Financial aid may be available for many students. Contact Student Services as soon as possible to enroll.
