In January 2018, Eastern Shore Community College bid a fond farewell to Dr. Linda Thomas-Glover, who had served as the college’s fourth president since June 2009. ESCC saw many changes during her tenure, including a major gifts campaign raising over $2 million, the awarding of two National Science Foundation Advanced Technological Education grants totaling over $500,000, and the beginning of construction of a new Academic and Administration building. The faculty and staff at ESCC wish her all the best in her new endeavor with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
With Dr. Glover’s departure, the VCCS has appointed Dr. William T. Greer, Jr. to serve as interim President. Dr. Greer earned a Bachelor degree at Valdosta State College, a Master of Divinity at Drew University, a Doctor of Theology degree at Emory University, and a Ph. D. at Georgia State University. Before becoming the third president of Virginia Wesleyan College in 1992, Dr. Greer served as president of both Brevard College and Andrew College and as a United Methodist Minister in his home state of Georgia. He retired from Virginia Wesleyan in 2015.
ESCC offers technical and arts and sciences degrees, a variety of credit and non-credit certificates, as well as customized training designed to meet unique business needs. A broad range of personal enrichment opportunities are also available.
