October 6th Alumni and Homecoming Event

09/01/2023

Calling all Alumni, Former Faculty, Staff and Administration

Your Eastern Shore Community College was disappointed by the forced cancellation of the Heritage and Homecoming Celebration on Saturday, September 23rd.  Tropical Storm Ophelia was a detriment to carrying off what would have been the event’s triumphant return after a three-year absence.

Not being left with a viable Saturday option this fall, ESCC is excited to adapt at least a part of our plan into another event. On Friday, October 6th from 5:00PM-8:00PM, the ESCC Homecoming and Alumni Celebration will be held in our Academic Building and will retain some important features from our original plans.

We are inviting ALL ESCC ALUMNI, current students, AND former faculty, staff, and administration.  We want to celebrate everyone who has made the college what it is today and has benefitted from what it offers.  Alumni will be presented attractive alumni lapel pins while supplies last, and EVERYONE is invited to sign our special wall boards!

While supplies last, alumni will receive limited edition lapel pins on October 6th.

Alumni rooms will be stocked with boards to sign and lapel pins, and we’ll even have dedicated spaces for our many healthcare graduates plus alum from NASA Wallops Island and associated agencies.  Welders! School teachers! Business owners!  If you attended ESCC, please take a moment and come out Friday, October 6thand “RECONNECT WITH ESCC!”

Cynthia Wallop, RN BSN. Our alumni are well represented in healthcare shore-wide.

There will be a special dedication and ceremony honoring the late Robin Rich-Coates which will begin at 5:30PM, followed by a brief presentation at 6:30PM by ESCC President Dr. Jim Shaeffer to all of the alumni, former employees, and guests.  Each attendee of this presentation will get a chance to win an ESCC Swag Bag that includes a $100 gift card!

A special dedication will be conducted for the late Robin Rich-Coates.

Food trucks will be on hand with a variety of dinner options on sale, and the student lounge will feature DJ music through the decades and a special PTK Bake Sale from the club.

Speaking of clubs, our classrooms will feature representation from many of our growing club interests at the college, plus we’ll have demonstrations in welding, biology, and electronics! Don’t miss the giant ESCC guitar that will be on display, created by Dr. Alex Foxworthy and Heather Littlefield, to promote the Woodworking and Carving Club!

Spread the word to fellow alumni and all friends of the college!  We hope to see a convergence of former students, faculty, employees, and friends come celebrate the “YES!” of your Eastern Shore Community College and set the stage for even more interaction and engagement.
