Groundbreaking Scheduled For New Main Academic Building at ESCC
Category: College09/09/2017
Eastern Shore Community College is excited to announce the groundbreaking for our brand new academic building, planned for Friday October 13th. The College Board, the ESCC Foundation Board of Directors, and the faculty and staff of ESCC, will be acknowledging the official launch of activity on the building site on our campus in Melfa.
The 49,206 square foot, two-story building will replace the existing academic building — which was completed in the early 1970’s. The new building will be positioned adjacent to the existing Workforce Development Services building that was completed in 2008.
Completion of the new building and demolition of the existing main building is anticipated in early 2019.
The new building will allow ESCC to offer more programs and provide a more advanced learning and training environment with state-of-the-art technology. The architects and designers have paid attention to faculty and staff input in creating the exciting new plans that will be employed in the construction.
Eastern Shore Community College thanks everyone involved in providing community support for this endeavor, and encourages residents to stay tuned for updates. Our Facebook page and other social media will be closely tracking the progress, and we hope you will join us in our enthusiasm for this exciting new resource for the Shore.
