Student update shares details of campus access starting next week

SUMMER OPERATIONS

ESCC will begin a phased reopening on June 15. At first, only welding and some healthcare classes will meet on-campus, and they will do so with heightened safety precautions. Please contact your instructor for more information.

We will also open our Student Services Center, Monday-Thursday, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. on June 15. Walk-in visits will not be permitted, but you may call ahead to make an appointment, or you may drive to campus and call us from your vehicle to request to be admitted to the building. Our student services number is 757-789-1720. You can also email us at studentservices@es.vccs.edu. Whenever possible, we will provide service by phone or online.

PLANS FOR FALL

Our best hypothesis for the fall semester is that we will start with remote instruction for most classes. We also believe we will be able to host some classes on campus and share on-campus classes with students remotely through Zoom. Our faculty are in the process of developing a plan for each class that maximizes safety, access, and excellence. Please feel welcome to let us know of your ideas and needs. We will announce specific plans soon.

YES! WE HAVE A SCHOLARSHIP FOR VIRTUALLY EVERY STUDENT. 

First, we encourage you to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) NOW so you can receive federal and state financial aid.

Second, apply for an ESCC Foundation Scholarship. The deadline has been extended to July 15, 2020. Scholarships will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis. Complete it today, do not delay!
