E.S. Cruisers Car Club Make Donation
Proceeds from Summer Car Show Supports Nursing Students
For the second year, the Eastern Shore Cruisers Car Club held a summer car show on the campus of Eastern Shore Community College on Saturday, August 12th, 2023. A great regional turnout enjoyed showing and competing for trophies. Vehicles from as far north as Delaware and south from Virginia Beach participated.
As a follow-up to this year’s event, club president Chester Jackson presented ESCC with a check for $2000 to support the Eastern Shore Cruisers Scholarship for nursing students. This scholarship can be utilized on either the Academic or Workforce track.
Jackson noted, “Our club recognizes the major role healthcare workers play in our community. So many gain their training at ESCC and spend their careers caring for our family, friends, and neighbors. It’s an honor to support this endeavor with our club scholarship.”
Patty Kellam with the ESCC Foundation accepted the check and commented, “We are so proud to have our partnership with the Eastern Shore Cruisers. Their work in the community is significant. In 2023 alone, they have donated over $15,000 to local Eastern Shore Organizations.”
ESCC President Dr. Jim Shaeffer added, “The enthusiasm and excitement the club brings each year to campus with their shows is amazing. ESCC is so appreciative to be utilized as a venue for this great community event, and to also be the recipient of such significant generosity. Our students will benefit from this wonderful annual scholarship.”
