The ESCC Foundation is pleased to announce the recipient of the 2016 ESCC Distinguished Alumni awards. This annual award is presented to ESCC alumni in recognition of outstanding professional achievement and community service.
Ann Pruitt received her Associate’s degree from ESCC in Nursing in 1996 and is currently enrolled in the BSN program at ODU. She is currently employed as the Director of Maternal and Child Health at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital where she is responsible overseeing 35 team members in Labor and Delivery and the Mother/Baby Unit. She is a member of the medical board of the Accomack Northampton Pregnancy Center, as well as the March of Dimes Steering Committee and the Smart Beginnings Steering Council. Ann says her best times at ESCC were spent in classrooms with teachers she knew really cared about her success and her as a person.
Matthew Young graduated from ESCC with an Associate’s in General Studies in 2010 and another in Science in 2011. He will receive his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Salisbury University in May 2016. He is a Park Ranger and Visitor Services Technician with the US Fish and Wildlife Service on Chincoteague. Matthew says that ESCC helped prepare him for life by making him more independent and bringing him out of his comfort zone.
The ESCC Foundation Board of Directors and the faculty and staff of the College congratulate Ann and Matthew for all of their accomplishments.
