Chevelle Mason Assumes New Role in Computer Science/Business Management at ESCC

Chevelle Mason’s success story continues to evolve as she has been appointed Computer Science/Business Management Faculty at ESCC this past August.
Many may be familiar with Chevelle’s inspiring journey that progressed from being homeless with two children, to obtaining her Career Studies Certificate in Early Childhood Development. Along with serving in various capacities in Adult Education at the college, Chevelle went on to obtain certificates and degrees in Early Childhood Education from TCC, a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology from Virginia Wesleyan (where she was honored with a featured success story), and most recently earning her Masters of Science Degrees in Management/Information Systems, and Information Assurance from Wilmington University.
Chevelle is now teaching college level Computer Science and Business Management Courses at ESCC, where she also participates in course and program development, advises students, assists and oversees adjunct faculty, participates in assessments, and serves on college committees. This role follows her recent positions as ITE and ITN Adjunct Instructor, and College Success Coach.
Whether it is her role as an advisor in the “We The Community” club and various other civic endeavors, or her day to day rapport with a diverse population of faculty, staff, students, and business partners, Chevelle Mason exhibits the intelligence and determination that has brought her to her new position, and provides a shining example to all students of what can be accomplished with the right motivation and resolve.
