Accomack-Northampton Regional Job Fair April 13th at ESCC

Every career begins with a job, and on Wednesday April 13th, Eastern Shore Community College will provide that next step with the Accomack-Northampton Regional Job Fair from 9am-1pm at the Workforce Development Center in Melfa.  Presented in partnership with the Eastern Shore of Virginia Chamber of Commerce, the Northampton County and Chincoteague Chambers, and the Virginia Employment Commission, this fair offers the unique opportunity to meet top Eastern Shore employers altogether. There will be more than 40 employers participating from all over Delmarva and Hampton Roads, promoting dozens of job opportunities.
Some of those include, ES Family YMCA, ES Rural Health, East Coast Migrant Head Start, New Ravenna, Walmart, E.S. Association of Realtors, Hampton Inn & Suites, Briggs Home Health Agency, Wendy’s, The Jackspot, Heritage Hall, Sysco, Securitas Security Services, Bayshore Concrete, Surface Combat Systems Center of Wallops, Department of Public Safety & Corrections in Baltimore, Northampton County Public Schools, A&N Electric Co-op, Riverside Health System, Avon, Bay Creek Resort, DeVry University of Chesapeake, LJT& Associates, Royal Farms, Great Machipongo Clam Shack, Virginia Space Flight Academy, Virginia Department of Agriculture, Comfort Suites, Perdue, Bojangles, Bluewater Resort Group, TransAmerica Insurance, Central Intelligence Agency (DC), and more to be announced.

Free job search workshops will be held at the April 13th event at 8:30am, 9:15am, and 10:00am.  Also the Virginia Employment Commission in Onley is conducting two seminars the week leading up to the event.  Resume writing will be addressed on Wednesday, April 6 from 1:00pm-2:30pm, and on Thursday, April 7, interview techniques will be the subject matter from 10:00am-11:30am.  Pre-registration for these seminars is required- please call 757-302-2029.

The regional job fair is free to job seekers, and attendees are encouraged to “dress to impress”.
