Matthew Young graduated from ESCC as a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society in 2010 with an Associate’s in General Studies and in 2011 with an Associate’s in Science.  From there, he attended Salisbury University, where he will receive his Bachelor’s of Science in Biology in May 2016.  He is a Park Ranger—Visitor Services Technician for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service at the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge, providing interpretive programs to the public on various Refuge related topics.  He created a 10-week environmental education curriculum focusing on the different trophic levels of the food chain at the Refuge, and he has provided local schools ranger-led environmental education programs. ESCC helped prepare Matthew for life and a career by making him more independent and giving him the opportunity to collaborate with fellow classmates.
