Meet “The Women of Wallops”

10/04/2016

One of the most important funding sources for ESCC  is the Perkins grant.  Perkins funds support career and technical education that prepares its students both for post-secondary education and the careers of their choice. A primary focus of Perkins is nontraditional programs and fields of employment.  Career choices should be based on talent, interest and personal desires…..NOT gender. Using Perkins funds, we created videos highlighting some ESCC students who have done just that – chosen their careers based on what they really wanted to do.  Our latest installment is the “Women of Wallops”.  Amy Davis and Terry Snyder are both featured in their respective roles at NASA and Orbital ATK.  Amy earned her Associate of Applied Science Electronics Technology in May 1993 at ESCC, and went directly to work for NASA Wallops Flight Facility.  Terry graduated from ESCC spring 2005 with an Associate of Applied Science, Electronic Computer Technician and an Associate of Applied Science, Electronics Technology.  She went directly to work for Northrup Grumman in the NFROC program and is now at Orbital ATK.
