PTK Earns Convention Honors And Announces Spring Induction Ceremony

The Virginia/West Virginia Regional Convention of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) was held March 2-4, 2018 at the Embassy Suites Convention Center in Hampton.  PTK is the national honor society for two-year colleges.  Eastern Shore Community College’s Chapter of PTK received a number of awards in a variety of categories.
First place honors were received for Distinguished Chapter Officer Team and First Runner Up honors for Distinguished Chapter. The Honors in Action Project Subdivision-Theme “3 Rights and Responsibilities” also came in first.

The Chapter took Second Place honors for Fundraising, College Project, Community Service, and overall for the Honors in Action Project. Crystal Roughton received Third Place for Distinguished Chapter Officer, and Jorge Morales received Third Place for Distinguished Chapter Member.

Additional recognitions included Five Star Chapter, Regional Honors in Action Project, and Co-host for the Regional Convention.  Robin Rich-Coates of Eastern Shore Community College serves as the Chapter Sponsor.

The Chapter is holding their annual Spring Induction Ceremony on Thursday, March 22nd at 12:15pm in the Great Hall of the Workforce Development Services Center.  Dr. Julie Nash, Professor of Psychology will be the guest speaker, with a reception and light refreshments following the induction program.  Family members and guests are welcome to attend.
