Community Conversations on Race Returns January 25

Virtual Public Dialogue Continues in 2021

Please join us for our fifth Community Conversations on Race (and the first one this 2021 year) on Monday evening, January 25th, from 7pmEST-8pmEST. We are encouraging an open dialogue with the public, for in order to understand one another, we must be able to openly speak with and to one another about real issues.

Attendees will view a brief video based on an interview with Ta-Nehisi Coates’ book, Between the World and Me, which has been recently turned into a documentary (and attendees can access this show via HBOMax, Hulu, or AmazonPrime Video). We will explore how the message in this book/documentary speaks to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech.

All guests are encouraged to abide by these Ground Rules:
Use appropriate, non-offensive language;
Maintain confidentiality;
Listen actively;
Give grace: everyone is coming into the Conversation from a different place, AND
before asking a question, consider how you would feel if you were on the receiving end of it.

Google Voice (call or text): 757-655-5048
