Construction 101 Class Begins
ESCC Workforce is again offering the “Construction 101” NCCER certification class, starting Jan 9 thru March 1. Classes will meet on campus Monday & Wednesday evenings, 5:30-8:30pm. Students learn the basic skills needed to continue education in any craft area (such as electricity, plumbing, etc) by studying modules like basic safety, communication, construction math, and construction drawings. Students who successfully complete the class and pass the credentialing exam may also receive academic credit from ESCC. The class is offered through Virginia’s “FastForward” program, which automatically pays for 2/3 of the class cost of $1,098. Financial assistance is available to help students with the remaining 1/3 share of $362. Contact workforce@es.vccs.edu for more information.
