ESCC Enters Into a Direct Transfer Agreement with Wilmington University

MELFA, VA — Eastern Shore Community College (ESCC) and Wilmington University (WU) have entered into a Direct Transfer agreement so that students enrolled in eligible Associate’s degree programs at ESCC will be conditionally admitted into a Bachelor’s degree program at WU. 

Dr. Peter Bailey, WU Vice President External Affairs, said, “Wilmington University is looking forward to a long partnership with Eastern Shore Community College. Eastern Shore is known for the high quality of its academic programs and faculty. Their student come to us well prepared for advanced studies. We are happy to offer them the opportunity to complete their bachelor’s degree using our liberal transfer policy and affordable tuition.”

Wilmington University is a private, non-profit university that offers both undergraduate and graduate degree programs in a wide range of career areas.  The program of day, evening, and weekend classes serves traditional high school graduates as well as non-traditional adult students in need of flexible scheduling.   Classes are primarily offered in 15-week, 7-week, and weekend modular formats. In addition to these face-to-face learning options, Wilmington University offers a wide array of online learning options, including fully-online degree programs and hybrid courses and programs (combining face-to-face and online learning.

“This agreement between Wilmington University and Eastern Shore Community College has the potential to greatly enhance educational opportunities for Eastern Shore students,” said Dr. Linda Thomas Glover, ESCC President. “We continue to seek out partnerships such as these to benefit our students.  I am especially impressed with the flexible scheduling and the wide variety of online degrees WU offers, making it possible for students to complete a degree while also balancing work, family and other responsibilities.” 

Eligible ESCC Associate’s Degree graduates, are guaranteed admissions into a Bachelor’s Degree program with junior status at WU on the condition that they: graduate from ESCC in an eligible Associate’s degree program with a minimum grade point average of 2.0 and complete other regular admissions requirements as determined by WU.
