Office Manager Position at Klingel Landscape

Jeff Klingel Landscape is a growing design/build landscape contractor based in Eastville, Virginia. We are currently seeking an office manager with some light bookkeeping experience.  A qualified candidate will be very organized, communicate well, and have a good grasp on basic computer skills.  Quickbooks experience is a plus, but we will train a candidate who has some background in accounting or small business finance.  Other responsibilities include contract writing, scheduling, filing, phone duties, and general customer service.  This position could be parlayed into a full time position although 30 hours to start would be ideal.  Our office operates Monday through Friday but we are happy to offer flexible hours for those that have classes, families, or other responsibilities that require consideration.  Jeff Klingel Landscape is a growing company that maintains two design/build and maintenance crews that service the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Nature Conservancy Marine Field Technician

The Nature Conservancy is seeking applications for a Marine Field Technician to support the Volgenau Virginia Coast Reserve’s Marine Habitat Restoration Program. To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance OR have experience working in an accounting position or a combination of the two. Experience in the public sector is a plus
  • Be proficient in MS Excel, detail  oriented and willing to learn the Town’s software
  • Proven experience working with customers and being able to multi task as well as the ability to prioritize work and multitask
  • Be able to work independently as well as on a team
  • Have a strong desire to learn and be willing to take classes and attend training including earning a Deputy Treasurer’s Certificate

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Special projects as assigned by the Treasurer
  • General ledger account reconciliations
  • Assisting with tax billing and maintenance of tax payer accounts
  • Meeting and greeting citizens and as siting them with questions as they relate to the Treasurer’s office

If you are willing to learn, we will train you.  The salary range is dependent on the amount of experience and qualifications, ($17.78-$21.15 plus a 2.5% COLA in July if hired before 5/1/2023 and a $2,000 increase once a Deputy Treasuer’s Certificate is obtained.   • A Lead position should have significant experience in public works, the trades, construction and/or building grounds. Supervisory experience is not required but desirable 
  • A Maintenance Worker requires some experience such as lawn care and maintenance, as well as the desire to learn. 
  • Seasonal Public Works employees help out during the tourist season, often working close to 40 hours during the peak.

Necessary Skills
