Meet President Minus
Dr. Daryl L. Minus became the sixth president of Eastern Shore Community College on July 1, 2025. With 30 years of experience in higher education, Dr. Minus has demonstrated servant leadership throughout his distinguished career, serving as a catalyst for access, student success, workforce readiness, and equity.
Prior to joining ESCC, Dr. Minus served as Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Success at Southside Virginia Community College in Alberta, Virginia. Previously, he held executive leadership positions within the North Carolina Community College System, including Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Services at Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington and
Executive Vice President for Learning and Student Success/Chief Academic Officer at Craven Community College in New Bern.
Dr. Minus believes in the transformative power of community colleges as pathways to economic mobility and opportunity. His leadership philosophy is grounded in a deep commitment to teaching and learning, meaningful community collaboration, and the holistic development and success of every student.
Dr. Minus earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia, a master’s degree in Business Education/Higher Education from New York University, and a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix.
