Request Official Transcript
ESCC uses Parchment for electronic transmission of official transcripts. Request for official transcripts must be made through Parchment.
Note: If you come to ESCC to request a transcript in person, a Student Services representative will take you through the process of requesting the transcript in Parchment.
The cost will be $3.15 per copy through Parchment. The cost for USPS service is provided at an additional cost through Parchment.
Most colleges and universities require students send official transcripts electronically and will not accept a paper copy of the transcript sent to students. If a paper copy is necessary because a student needs to include an official transcript with an application, the transcript should not be opened. Most college, universities or other organizations will not accept an opened paper copy of the transcript.
Processing Time
Transcripts take up to 48 business hours to process through Parchment.
If it has been ten or more years since you last attended ESCC, please allow additional time to process your transcript.
Releasing Transcript
If you have a past due balance, you will have a hold on your records that may prevent Eastern Shore Community College from releasing your transcript. Check your myESCC Student Center for any holds. If you are ordering a transcript using your correct Empl ID, turnaround time will be quicker than if you use your social security number. Your transcript will not be processed until the hold has been lifted from your account.
If attachments are required (i.e. for law or medical school admission services), you will need to attach the documents when submitting your online transcript request through Parchment.
Non-Credit Transcript
Non-Credit transcripts should be requested through the Workforce Development Office at 757-789-7979
Important Information
Parchment cannot hold a credit card pre-authorization for more than 30 days; therefore all open orders are canceled after 30 days. You will be sent a notification email when the order is canceled, informing you of the cancellation and giving you instructions on entering a new order if desired.
Your credit card will be processed for the purchased amount when the transcript is requested, but your credit card is not charged until the documents are processed successfully.
Help with Online Requests
Parchment should be contacted for questions about registration, the ordering process or user issues at www.parchment.com.
Inquiries concerning a transcript that cannot be released due to a hold should be made to ESCC’s Registrar’s Office email at registrar@es.vccs.edu.
To cancel an online request for an official transcript, contact Parchment and tell them that you would like to cancel your request. Response time for Parchment is usually one business day.
NOTE:
The Board of Nursing does not accept transcripts electronically, however a transcript can be sent through USPS by Parchment.
Currently there are four colleges in Virginia that do not accept electronic transcripts however they will accept transcripts mailed from Parchment.
- Hampton University

At the current time, The Department of Education will not accept an ESCC official transcript sent through Parchment. If you need a transcript for teacher recertification purposes, please make your request in person. The cost for the DOE transcript will be $3.15 per copy.
Request GED Certificate
GED transcripts are handled directly through the GED website at www.GED.com. This website has a “Request Transcript” tab in the top menu bar. Please note that there is a fee to obtain a GED transcript. It is recommended that you have it emailed to yourself so that you can download it anytime and always have a copy. Otherwise, you will pay the fee again if you need another copy in the future. Additional instructions can be found on the ESCC Adult Education and GED webpage and GED – How to View Scores.
