Request Official Transcript
ESCC uses Parchment for electronic transmission of official transcripts. Requests for official transcripts must be made through Parchment.
Most colleges and universities require students to send official transcripts electronically and will not accept a paper copy of the transcript sent via the student.
Please call 757-789-1720 to verify your student ID number. Your order will be placed on hold without it.

Frequently Asked Questions
A transcript is a copy of your permanent academic record. An official transcript carries the College seal and may only be obtained from the office of the College’s Registrar. ESCC works with Parchment, a company where you can order your official transcript.
An unofficial transcript is an unsigned copy of your academic record. Instructions for requesting both official and unofficial transcripts from the Student Information System (SIS) are found above.
The cost will be $7.50 per copy through Parchment. The cost of mailing a physical copy via USPS service is provided at an additional cost through Parchment.
Transcripts can take up to forty-eight business hours to process through Parchment.
If attachments are required (i.e., for law or medical school admission services), you will need to attach the documents when submitting your online transcript request through Parchment. This option is available when submitting your request.
Yes, Parchment does offer mailing services using USPS for an additional fee.
Should you pick up a printed official transcript in-person, you will need to also sign a Request to Release Education Records form before we can release it. Contact the Registrar’s office in order to provide a printed copy for you to pick up. (Note: The transcript should not be opened unless it is done by the recipient. The envelope is meant to be delivered intact to show no tampering was completed with the documentation.)
Incorrect/outdated information could prevent your order from being processed. If your name has changed since you attended ESCC, you need to use the “old” name for your requests. This name is still connected to your academic records and will continue to be listed that way until you complete/submit a Student Data Change form.
EXCEPTIONS:
There are some Virginian organizations that do not accept Parchment’s electronic transcripts; however, a transcript can be mailed through USPS by Parchment. They are:
- University of Mary Washington
- Virginia Board of Nursing
- Virginia Department of Education
Request Non-Credit Transcript
Non-Credit transcripts should be requested through the Workforce Development Office at 757-789-7979.
Request GED Certificate
GED transcripts are handled directly through the GED website. Click here to access it.
The Parchment website has a “Request Transcript” tab in the top menu bar. Please note that there is a fee to obtain a GED transcript. It is recommended that you have it emailed to yourself so that you can download it anytime and always have a copy. Otherwise, you will pay the fee again if you need another copy in the future. Additional instructions can be found on the ESCC Adult Education and GED webpage.
