FastForward programs help Virginians get the high-demand jobs they want and the salaries they need. ESCC programs “fast forward” careers by providing training in weeks or months, instead of semesters or years.
Why FastForward?
FastForward is a short-term program that prepares Virginia’s learners to receive recognized licenses or credentials in a variety of high-demand industries, helping them get the job they want with the salary they need to provide for themselves and their families. FastForward credentials can either be stand-alone classes, or serve as the first step on a pathway that leads to more advanced learning opportunities, including certificates, Career Studies Certificates, and academic degrees.
FastForward classes provide significant value to the learner. Students (or their employer) pay for the first one-third of the class cost, and the Commonwealth of Virginia automatically pays for the next one-third. Once a student successfully completes their class and earns their credential, the Commonwealth will also pay the last one-third! Significant financial assistance is normally available to help students with their class costs; it’s not unusual for students to receive aid for all of their obligation. Text books and certification exams are also included in the cost of the classes. Additionally, the FastForward program provides learners with a dedicated coach to help overcome barriers both inside and outside the classroom.
