Commencement is a ceremony held that honors students who just have (or will soon) graduate(d). Graduation indicates the completion of a curriculum/program. Participating in Commencement does not automatically mean that a student has graduated.
Eastern Shore Community College hosts one Commencement ceremony per year during the month of May. The specific date and accompanying details are communicated through regular channels of student account emails, campus broadcasts, and on our website.
The number of tickets available will be communicated via emails sent to your @es.vccs.edu address. Be sure to make a habit of checking it regularly!
Eastern Shore Community College permits students to participate in the commencement ceremony if they are enrolled in summer courses related to their curriculum. However, the student is still required to earn at least a 2.0 as their final grade point average in each of those courses.
Cap and gowns orders are through Herff Jones. The link can be found in the Commencement Newsletter that is emailed out. The cost is $36.50 plus tax. Financial aid cannot be used; this is an out-of-pocket cost.Ā There is also a deadline for regalia to be purchased by, which is also included in the Newsletter. The deadline for this year is 4/2.
The color of your tassel and stole indicate from which program/curriculum you are graduating. The team at Follett Bookstore can help you determine which options are your match.
