IET Coordinator/Instructor
The IET Coordinator / Instructor supports the Adult Education Program by delivering contextualized instruction aligned with Integrated Education and Training (IET) models while coordinating workforce-aligned classes and supporting student recruitment, enrollment, and persistence. This part-time position works under the guidance of the Regional Adult Education Program Manager and in collaboration with Adult Education staff, workforce partners, and community organizations to support learner success and grant-funded program objectives. This part time position is a 42 weeks per year, 25 hours per week position. This position is primarily based at a satellite office in Northampton County, with periodic travel to Eastern Shore Community College for meetings, coordination, and required check-ins.

Adult Education Instructor (Multiple Positions)
Eastern Shore Community College’s Adult Education Program is seeking qualified GED® and English Language Learning (ELL) Instructors to provide in-person instruction for adult learners. Instructors will support students in developing reading, writing, and math skills, while building workplace vocabulary, employability skills, and career readiness to prepare learners for academic coursework, workforce training, and in-demand careers.
Multiple part-time positions are available with flexible schedules, including daytime and evening classes, at locations throughout Northampton County and Accomack County.
The Adult Education IET Instructor will:
- Deliver instruction using an established curriculum.
- Administer required assessments and monitor student progress.
- Support students in developing the academic and workplace skills needed for success in postsecondary education or workforce training.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with staff, students, and workforce partners.
- Use instructional technology to plan lessons, deliver instruction, and assess learning.
- Participate in professional development activities, as applicable.

Adult Education Specialist
The Adult Education Specialist works under the general guidance of the Regional Program Manager to support the coordination, data management, and daily operations of the Adult Education program. This position serves as the primary front-line customer service contact for individuals entering or calling the Adult Education office, providing information, assistance, and referrals in a professional and welcoming manner.
The Specialist has primary responsibility for Adult Education data systems and state reporting functions, including accurate entry, validation, maintenance, disaggregation, and reporting of data in LACES and related systems in accordance with Virginia Department of Education requirements. The position independently compiles and prepares student, assessment, and performance data for state reporting, grant documentation, monitoring requirements, and internal program use, recognizing the direct impact of data accuracy on program funding and compliance.
In conjunction with the Regional Program Manager, the Specialist supports student intake, assessment, placement, CASAS eTesting, GED® testing initiatives, and the GED Accelerated Program. Additional responsibilities include tracking student progress; preparing required reports; disseminating data-related information to staff; maintaining program schedules and records; supporting instructor onboarding and professional development; assisting with outreach and recruitment activities; and providing administrative support related to purchasing, travel, and program review processes. Duties are performed with a high degree of accuracy, organization, confidentiality, and independence within established policies and procedures.

Workforce Services is looking for an adjunct to teach a series of hospitality-related credentials leading to the AHLEI Certified Hospitality Manager certification. Work experience in lodging and/or food service management needed.
