This Week’s Message to Students

04/14/2020

from Dr. Patrick Tompkins

Dear Your Eastern Shore Students,

ASSISTANCE FOR YOU & YOUR FAMILY

Are you experiencing problems with remote instruction? Are you experiencing life issues that are making it hard for you to do your schoolwork?

We can help. We can connect you to a variety of resources to support your classwork and other needs during this crisis. Please contact Debbie Daniels (ddaniels@es.vccs.edu), for any matter, great or small.

GRADUATION UPDATE

All students who are eligible will be graduated in May and issued their degrees and certificates. However, we will be unable to hold the commencement ceremony planned for May 13. Please let us know whether you think we should hold the ceremony later in the summer or fall or virtually. Please answer just one question on this survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/6MVTCPK.

HERE COMES SUMMER, HERE COMES FALL

We invite you to enroll now for summer and fall so that you have the best chance to achieve your goals. For assistance, you can contact either your faculty advisor or our lead advisor, Sheryl Williamson: swilliamson@es.vccs.edu.

Remember, those who register early pass more classes and graduate sooner than those who put registration off. You don’t even have to pay now!

GET YOUR FINANCIAL AID

It’s important that you regularly check your email and the Message Center so you can complete the financial aid process. Financial aid is awarded on a first come basis, so don’t delay. Here’s how:

MyESCC>SIS>Student Center>Message Center. For assistance, contact Carole Read: cread@es.vccs.edu

CAN WE TALK

Please be sure your phone number and alternate email addresses are current in the Student Information System so we can keep you updated on scholarships, registration, remote instruction, and more! Please check your information by following these instructions:

MyESCC>SIS>Self Service>Campus Personal Information. Then choose Phone Numbers or choose Email Addresses (you will have to click to expand the menu to access email addresses).

STUDENT GUIDANCE FOR THE EMERGENCY GRADING POLICY

If you need guidance about how the Emergency Grading Policy may affect GPA, transfer, and other important aspects, you may contact our advisor, Sheryl Williamson: swilliamson@es.vccs.edu.

For details on the policy and the Grade Choice form, please visit our Emergency Grading Policy.

YOUR HEALTH, OUR HEALTH

Wearing masks and gloves is not just for your protection—it also protects those you come into contact with. Please protect us. YES! This is Your Eastern Shore, this is Our Eastern Shore.

Wishing wellness,
