The forty-eighth annual commencement ceremony was held at Eastern Shore Community College at 4:00pm, Friday May 10th on the campus in Melfa.
ESCC awarded 119 post-secondary credentials which included Associate Degrees, Certificates and Career Studies Certificates, to our 2019 graduates.  The majors included, Administrative Assistant, Business Administration, Early Childhood Education, Electronics Technology, General Studies, Liberal Arts, Management, Science, Industrial Technology, Medical Assisting, Practical Nursing, Welding, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning, Long-Term Care Assistant and Medical Billing and Coding.

The ESCC Class of 2019 represents all areas of the Shore from Cape Charles to the Maryland line.  Some ESCC graduates are using the Guaranteed Admissions Agreement to transfer to other fine Colleges and Universities around the Commonwealth.

Members of the 2019 graduating class are also a part of Eastern Shore’s workforce and are employed at locations such as Riverside Health System, NASA Wallops Island, Tysons, Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport, Community Services Board, Northrop Grumman, Eastern Shore Rural Health, and many more.

The commencement address was given by Gerald Boyd, MDiv, ICADC, CADCII, Co-Founder and COO of Peacewerks Center for Well-Being, LLC, Executive Director of Eastern Shore Training and Consulting, Inc. (ESTACI), Organizer and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Samuel D. Outlaw Blacksmith Shop Memorial Museum, Board of Directors Member of the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Council Member of Virginia Organizing, and 200+ Men of Hampton Roads Member, and NAACP of Northampton County Virginia Member.

The Commencement Marshal was Karen Callahan Neville representing her husband, the late Professor Barry Neville, who was posthumously awarded the Professor Emeritus Award by Paul Weitzel, Associate Professor.

Enrollment for Fall 2019 classes is now underway at Eastern Shore Community College.  The last day to register is August 18th (online), with classes beginning on Monday, August 19th.  New and returning students are urged to begin the application process as soon as possible to insure your desired classes and schedule for this fall.  Visit es.vccs.edu online or visit student services for help with enrollment, financial aid, and advising.
