Librarian (Position No. FA017)
This is a full time twelve-month professional faculty-ranked appointment. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Salary range for this position is $62,270 – $126,288 and is accompanied by a full benefits package. This position will report to the Vice President of Academics and Student Affairs.
Eastern Shore Community College is a two-year public institution of higher education and the smallest of the 23 community colleges in Virginia. The College serves two rural counties, Accomack and Northampton, on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

Duties include, but are not limited to; under the general guidance of the VP of Academics, will supervise and coordinate the library and services. They will recommend and acquire high quality print and non-print resources and work closely with the Shared Services Center on acquisitions. Collaborate with the teaching faculty in reaching instructional objectives. Serves as the primary campus contact and administrator for the library.
Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an American Library Association accredited school. Considerable knowledge of emerging technologies utilized in research and instructional material. Demonstrated supervisory experience. Demonstrated ability to promote library services to on-line and on-campus students, faculty, and the community through outreach and marketing. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, and to work as a team member. Prior experience managing departmental budgets.
Recent experience in an academic library. Experience in a community college setting is also preferred.
