Assistant Coordinator for Student Advising Services
The Assistant Coordinator for Student Services is a faculty administrator-ranked position. The Assistant Coordinator position is a 12 month appointment.
Eastern Shore Community College is a two-year public institution of higher education and the smallest of the 23 community colleges in Virginia. The College serves two rural counties, Accomack and Northampton, on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
Included but not limited to, this position has responsibility for administration of the College’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) through: leading, managing and coordinating the student onboarding and advising programs, policies and processes; serving as the primary new student advisor; developing and implementing advisor training programs and services; facilitating with faculty and others the creation and assessment of assignments, projects, and activities to assess student learning in relation to the QEP; and forming and leading the college’s Advising Workgroup. As administrator of the QEP, the Assistant Coordinator has responsibility for all related assessment and reporting activities. The Assistant Coordinator reports to the Vice President for Academics and Student Affairs.
Salary commensurate with experience and education. The range for this position is $56,610 - $112,256. Approximate maximum hiring salary is $58,000 per annum.
A Master’s degree in Student Affairs, or the equivalent. Greater than 5 years’ experience advising community college students. Working knowledge of PeopleSoft, and Microsoft Office needed. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
