Accomack County Public Schools (ACPS) and Eastern Shore Community College (ESCC) collaborate to deliver a family literacy program for Limited English Proficient (LEP) families. This Even Start program provides intensive services to low income, low English literacy families with children ages 4-8 living in Accomack County.

The program has 4 components: Adult Education, Early Childhood and Parent-Child Interactive Parenting. Now in its fifth year of operation, the program has served 34 families.

The physical locations for services are Metompkin Emlementary School and Grace United Methodist Church in Parksley. Adult ESL classes are offered in both day and evening sessions Monday through Thursday. Transportation and on-site childcare are provided at both sessions. Homework assistance is provided evenings.

Contact Debbie Daniels at 757-789-1793 or Grace Cormons at 757-665-4698 for more information.
