Business Technology
Associate of Applied Science Degree and Certificate

The Information Systems Technology (IST) Degree and Certificate programs are designed to meet the needs of recent high school graduates and others from the world of work who want to acquire new skills or supplement current skills in the use of computers in the business field.

These programs use state-of-the-art technologies in preparing students to apply computer technology in supporting everyday business functions and management decision-making.

Certificate and A.A.S. IST students study word processing, spreadsheets, database management systems, multimedia and operating systems.  The A.A.S. program supplements this knowledge with a solid understanding of business practices and principles.

Graduate Careers

Graduates find employment as:

  • Application/system Support Specialist
  • Multimedia Specialist
  • Manager and Assistant Manager of Information Systems

Students may elect courses to prepare for positions in entry-level programming and Web site development. Any position supporting management’s use of computers and software in a business environment may be a starting point for IST graduates.
