Early Childhood Education
Associate in Applied Science Degree

The four-course Career Studies Certificate sequence is designed to prepare day-care aides to work effectively with young children. The courses introduce students to the physical, social, psychological, and cognitive developmental needs of pre-school children. Appropriate health care, nutrition, activities, and discipline are studied in a developmental context.

The Early Childhood Education Associate in Applied Science degree program includes the courses in the Career Studies Certificate and other early childhood education courses.  This program is meant to provide knowledge of the needs of young children and the skills to prepare day care workers and classroom aides.

Graduate Careers

Students who complete the program are aides in day-care centers and K-4 aides in the schools. The program is recommended for parents, babysitters or anyone who cares for pre-school children.
