ESCC Workforce Development Services Offers Fall Classes

Eastern Shore Community College Workforce Development Services is offering a variety of non-credit fall classes with start times ranging from late September to early December.
Of interest to college-bound students will be the NEW SAT Prep Course which starts September 21st.  Students of any age can benefit from Basic Computer Skills starting September 27th. This course paves the way for Microsoft Office Suite, which delves into Word, Excel, and Outlook, and begins on October 6th.

Local business owners will find the Innovation Readiness Course a valuable resource. Starting on November 1, this course is designed to help businesses and entrepreneurs navigate the process of commercialization.

For the hospitality industry, Food Safety Training and Certification will be offered starting October 11th.  This class will be taught by Llewellyn Allison and will culminate with a locally recognized certification exam.

Personal Care Aide Course and HEARTSAVER First Aid CPR AED can be taken together for a savings to the student.  The PCA class, taught by Tammy Pruitt, will start on October 4, and is a 40-hour course based upon the DMAS PCA curriculum.   Jimmy Wilson will lead the CPR Class on December 6 and 8.

More new offerings this fall include Introduction to Interplay with Karen Hatch. Interplay is an active, creative approach to unlocking the wisdom of the body.  This course will start October 19th.  In a two-hour class on December 6th, lifelong local educator, Berkley Ashby, will share his knowledge and talents of Flower Arrangement.

Mental Health First Aid Training is being offered monthly with instructor Kelly Bulin.  This nationally recognized training program can result in certification.  The next installment will be Friday, September 30th.
