ESCC Learning Resource Center Announces “ESCC Reads!” Program

The “ESCC Reads” Program is a 2016-2017 Reading Initiative that offers prizes for participation.  
1. Register for the Challenge (All participants will be entered into a prize drawing and receive an incentive for registering, just stop by the LRC to claim your gift*!)

2. Read 10 books during the 2016-2017 academic year from the following categories:

  1. Read a book from the banned books list
  2. Read a book that was adapted into a movie, then watch the movie to see which is better
  3. Read a collection of short stories, essays, or poetry
  4. Seek out a recommendation from faculty or staff member
  5. Listen to an audiobook
  6. Read a book published the year you were born
  7. Read a memoir or autobiography
  8. Read a non-fiction book that is NOT a memoir or an autobiography
  9. Read a book that won either National Book Award or a Pulitzer Prize
  10. Read a book set-in another country

3. Join our Good Reads Group and attend monthly book chats on the 2nd Tuesday of the month(starting with the kick-off informational session in September) to discuss what you are reading with other participants, hear about where others are in the challenge, and get recommendations for what to read next over lunch! (Participation is optional, but who doesn’t love free food?)

4. Complete a bookmark with the list of titles you read.

5. Bring your list to the LRC when you complete the challenge to receive an invitation to our exclusive “ESCC Reads! Celebration” and get entered into the grand prize drawing*.

*Participants must register wil their real name in order to claim gift, Only students are eligible for entry into the entry prize and grand prize drawings
