The Long Term Care Assistant program follows the State Board of Nursing approved curricula for Nurse Aides. Content includes basic care skills, communication, observation, charting/reporting, infection control, safety, nutrition and ethics.
Also included are topics relevant to home health care and the state approved curriculum for Authorized Agents who may assist in medication administration.
Significant opportunities exist for Nurse Aides with state certification in virtually all health care environments from home health to hospitals.
The program can also be stepping-stone to careers as LPNs and RNs.
