Full time position to promote enrollment in ESCC programs which improve outreach to individuals who may require financial assistance, and academic and personal support to achieve their educational and / or career goals in support of local Workforce Investment Board initiatives. Incumbent will work in partnership with other agencies within the One-Stop System and local school divisions served by the WIOA youth program. Begins 7/25/2017, or as soon as agreed upon.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide individual support to assist participants in overcoming barriers to reach their educational and employment goals.
  • Partner with local businesses to create short-term subsidized work experiences for participants.
  • Monitor participant program progress with frequent contact to ensure successful employment and training outcomes.
  • Prepare and lead employment workshops and /or individual career counseling, to help participants over their barriers to employment.

Salary

Minimum salary of $33,598 with comprehensive State benefits package. This position is Grant Funded and continuance is based on sufficient funding.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in human services, social services, or related field with several years’ experience working in case management. Must be sensitive and responsive to cultural differences among applicants, participants, training providers, and community members.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of laws, rules and regulations governing eligibility and determination of training programs and related case management. Strong written and oral communication skills. Skilled at interviewing, information gathering and employment counseling techniques. Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with applicants, participants, employees, other agencies, and the community. Effective problem solving skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office and personal computers. Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
