Reporting to the Dean of Workforce Development Services (WDS), the Program Specialist is responsible for supporting the department as the front desk professional for all clients, customers and students entering the WDS building. This is a full-time, 12 month position beginning 10/10/2017 or as soon as agreed upon. This is a granted funded position and continuance is based on sufficient funding.
Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
- Directing inquiries to appropriate offices
- Assisting the general public by answering questions and providing general information
- Providing support for the Pearson Vue Testing Center
- Serving as back-up to WDS Information Specialist
- Collecting payments and ensuring secure processing
Minimum salary of $25,718 with comprehensive Commonwealth benefits package.
High School diploma or equivalent. Several years experience in a fast paced customer service environment. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and written. Must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to take direction and work independently. Intermediate experience in computer use and in an office environment.
Experience as receptionist with excellent switchboard knowledge. Experience handling money and cash. General knowledge of VCCS and ESCC policies and procedures.
