Eastern Shore Community College is recruiting for a part-time Lead teaching position reporting to the Coordinator of Adult Education Programs. The hourly rate is $25 per hour. There are no benefits associated with this position. Flexible schedule with up to 25 hours per week beginning October 27, 2017, or as soon as agreed upon, which may include evenings and weekends. Part of the position will instruct(between 10 and 15 hours) and part will be responsible for program coordination. Position is subject to a successful background check and valid employment eligibility through E-Verify. This is a granted funded position and continuance is based on sufficient funding.
Will work with adult education instructors to ensure they meet the needs of adult learners, to include working directly with them in the classroom. Responsible for researching and recommending all materials and supplies needed in IEL/CIVICS classrooms. Will also perform in-services’ and teacher observations to acknowledge evidence of best practices.
Bachelor’s Degree in education/teaching certificate. Previous teaching experience in adult education or in English as a second language. Experience working with learners of various ages and backgrounds. Knowledge of English Language Learning needs.
Master’s Degree in education with several years teaching experience.
