Reporting to the Student Services Department Counselor, the Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to the department with VCCS Chancellor’s College Success Coach Initiatives, designed to promote and maintain student success. This part-time hourly staff position begins 7/17/17, or as soon as agreed upon, at an hourly rate of $12.74 with no benefits. Hours are flexible up to 29 hours per week. This is a grant funded position and continuance is based on sufficient funding.

Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provide support to Student Services department.
  • Serve as front line contact for clients, customers, students, and the community to address concerns and provide initial assistance.
  • Record keep, data collection and entry as appropriate or required in order to support the department.
  • Maintain accurate knowledge of college departments and roles to direct client’s customers and students in a timely fashion.

Required Qualifications

Associate’s Degree or equivalent educational experience, with several years’ work experience in an office environment. Strong organizational skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office and internet navigation.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree, with several years’ experience in an educational environment with switchboard experience. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
